Les Claypool and his two bandmates have been perfecting their very unique take on experimental rock since the band’s formation in 1984. Primus is well-known for taking a number of different influences and mashing them up into a unique sound that can only be described as funk metal that is laced with elements of punk, and which has garnered the trio of extremely-talented musicians a very loyal following of fans.
Many of their fans will recognize Primus from creating the award winning and critically acclaimed theme song for the hit animated series South Park. This funk metal outfit has managed to garner a number of gold and platinum selling albums along with a number of very prestigious Grammy Award nominations as well.
Songs such as “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver,” “My Name Is Mud,” and “Jerry Was a Man” are just a few of the selections that will be played.
Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade will feature extended jam-based performances of progressive, psychedelic and traditional rock songs. Because the extended jams cannot be recorded, The last studio release by the group, ‘Return of the Live Frogs Vol. 1′ (2026), has some of the groups classic material in it, with some newer songs. Frog Brigade typically features Les on bass and vocals, plus a rotating cast of musicians including guest vocals by Sean Lennon, guitarists including Tim Stenz, Brian Haefeli and Guy Mcdonald.
The Claypool Lennon Delirium is a psychedelic rock project started by bassist/singer Les Claypool and singer/guitarist Sean Ono Lennon. The band is known for creating large concept albums that include special story telling and artistic components. Their songs include “The Golden Egg of Empathy” and “WAP (What a Predicament)” and have continued to create and evolve into a unique musical universe. Their newest release, “The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy” (2026), is a 14-song concept record that delves into topics such as the misuse of artificial intelligence, morality, and the struggle to keep our planet sustainable.
Dillon Amphitheater is located at 135 W. Lodgepole St. in Dillon, Colorado 80435, in a beautiful setting with the Rocky Mountains providing the backdrop to the venue and the Dillon Marina and Lake Dillon in front of the venue.
